Antioch police are asking the public’s help in determining what led to a Sunday afternoon shooting, which wounded a man as he was driving through the intersection at West 10th Street and Auto Center Drive.
About 2:21 p.m., police received at least one report that gunfire had erupted in the area. But the victim, a 29-year-old Antioch resident police did not identify by name, had already left the scene when officers arrived.
The man had driven to his home nearby. Police said they found him there, alert but suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was treated at a local hospital and the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening, police said.
Police closed the intersection to traffic for about 30 minutes while investigators collected evidence. The department is still investigating the incident.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Antioch Police Department at 925-778-2441.
